Get Started?
To start using Atoms Precision V2 for your own parts, please download the free trial version from the download section. On this page we will give you an overview of the work-flow and key functions of the software. On the right you will find a sample video guiding you through the steps required to measure parts with Atoms Precision V2.
Start Tab
In the Start Tab you can input graphic files in various formats and adjust basic settings such as rotation of the image or object luminosity. The Start tab also allows you to activate the camera device.
Calibration Tab
Calibrating is important because it translates the size of the pixels captured by the camera to a measurement value for the Atoms Precision V2 software. Since you might use a variety of hardware components with Atoms Precision V2 the software needs to be calibrated when switching hardware to ensure accurate measurements.
Orientation Tab
This step defines the way the part is to be inspected and placed under the camera for measurement. The orientation function specifies the orientation of the contour in the template file for Atoms Precision V2 to compare during the measurement process. This information is later saved in the template file and used for every part measured in the series.
Template Tab
The Template Tab is used to define measurements to be validated in the measurement process. This template needs to be created only once for a part and can thereafter be used indefinitely for validating the specific part.
Templates can be created from image files of your product or DXF files created during the design process.
Masking
While creating templates the main task is to define geometric primitives to be used for measurement. Atoms Precision V2 has an unique masking tool for easy and fast definition of the contour segments you want to be measure.
Quick Measurements
If you want to verify a distance, radius or angle quickly, without masking specific primitives, you can use the Quick Manual Measurement tools. Additionally you can create subjective point objects on the image as reference for measurement of specific dimensions.
Measure Tab
Once you have completed the short process of setting up your template and Optical Profile your operators can begin using Atoms Precision V2 to verify the dimensions of the parts being manufactured.
When verifying the dimensions, Measurement Mode can be used to restrict the editing of templates, giving you the security necessary to make sure templates cannot be changed.
Reports
Available in MS Excel and PDF formats, reports allow you to analyse statistical data of your measurement process resulting in greater control over your process and an increased customer confidence in your quality. Furthermore, the software allows you to combine reports from different periods of time in order to better assess the long term quality of your production process.
